Job summary

Gridlines is a fast-growing financial modelling consultancy. We seek an experienced model audit professional to lead audits, ensure accuracy, and improve modelling methodologies.

You will work with a team of modelling experts to review complex financial models and deliver robust results. You will manage a portfolio of assignments, mentor junior staff, and develop client relationships while contributing to growth initiatives and the development of tools and processes.

Qualifications

  • 4-6 years of relevant experience in financial modelling or advisory roles.
  • Strong analytical skills with proven experience in building and operating financial models in Excel.
  • Good understanding of accounting concepts; accounting qualification is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Project Finance concepts and FAST modelling standard.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead model audit assignments, ensure models are arithmetically and commercially correct.
  • Manage a portfolio of active assignments and lead project plans and timelines.
  • Review documentation and reflect it accurately in the financial model.
  • Train and mentor junior team members on assignments.

Role

We are seeking an experienced model audit professional that is passionate about financial modelling and driven by growth. You will work with a team of modelling professionals to analyse and review complex financial models, ensuring they are robust and reliable.

Requirements
Operations
  • Managing a portfolio of active assignments
  • Lead model audit assignments, ensuring models are arithmetically and commercially correct
  • Use a combination of software checks and parallel model development to identify modelling errors
  • Review and interpret commercial documentation and ensure it is reflected accurately in the financial model
  • Take ownership of specific assignments and projects, demonstrating initiative and dedication to achieving high‑quality outcomes
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of our financial modelling methodologies and tools, driving continuous improvement and innovation
  • Prepare comprehensive model documentation detailing assumptions, methodologies, and results
  • Maintain meticulous records of modelling processes and methodologies to uphold our high standards and ensure consistency
  • Lead in developing project plans, timelines, and resource allocation to ensure efficient and effective project delivery
People
  • Lead a team of model audit professionals
  • Train, motivate and manage junior team members on assignments
  • Collaborate closely with team members, learning and contributing to assignments
  • Communicate model findings and insights effectively to clients and internal teams
  • Simplify complex financial model issues to make them understandable for non-technical stakeholders
Growth
  • Supporting in the business development and growth ambitions of a key sector of the business
  • Lead in the development of client pitches
  • Lead client calls and build client relationships
Key Skills And Qualifications

  • 4-6 years of relevant experience in a financial role within a recognized advisory practice or large corporate setting
  • A good appreciation of accounting concepts, an accounting qualification beneficial
  • An in-depth understanding of Project Finance concepts
  • Strong analytical skills with proven experience in building and operating financial models using Excel
  • Degree qualified in a numerate discipline, with a postgraduate qualification in accounting or finance beneficial
  • Experience with the FAST financial modelling standard is desirable
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team
