Job summary

PwC UK is seeking a Manager in Banking and Capital Markets Audit to lead multi-location audits from planning to delivery, gaining deep insights into client businesses and engaging stakeholders.

You will manage teams across Edinburgh or London, drive high audit quality, and support team development with coaching and clear expectations.

Qualifications

• Chartered Accountant / ACA / ACCA / ICAS qualification (or international equivalent).
• Strong IFRS and UK GAAP knowledge and auditing standards.
• Proven project management skills with large, complex audits.
• Ability to communicate complex audit matters clearly to colleagues and clients.
• Demonstrates resilience and ability to develop the team.

Responsibilities

• Lead multi-location audit teams from planning to completion, ensuring high-quality delivery.
• Develop deep understanding of clients' business risks and engage stakeholders.
• Identify issues, analyse data, articulate findings, and draw informed conclusions.
• Manage financials and resources of engagements with a commercial mindset.
• Coach and develop team members while setting clear expectations.

What Your Days Will Look Like

• Leading multi-location teams, using your team and relationship management skills to ensure the delivery of high quality audit work - from planning to completion of an Audit, including the review of financial statements, ensuring that it meets PwC and regulatory standards.
• Building meaningful relationships and demonstrating curiosity that will allow you to have insightful conversations and provide visible challenge during the Audit.
• Leading on the completion of areas of complex or judgemental audit work which includes the identification of issues, analysis of data, articulation of findings and the ability to draw informed conclusions.
• Managing the financial and resource aspects of Audit engagements, demonstrating a commercial approach throughout
• Supporting your team’s technical and personal development and identifying where they may require further support; and putting your team first by coaching with purpose, being present with the team and openly communicating expectations.

This Role Is For You If

• Must possess a Chartered Accountant / ACA / ACCA / ICAS qualification (or an international equivalent) or have equivalent work experience. This includes international candidates who qualify through experience in their home country;
• A high level of experience of IFRS and/or UK GAAP and be highly skilled in using international standards on auditing;
• Highly developed project management skills and a strong track record of managing larger or more complex audits to the highest standard from planning to completion;
• Has the ability to communicate complex or contentious audit matters clearly and concisely in both verbal and written form to colleagues and senior client stakeholders;
• Has the ability to offer considered points of view in client conversations around broader industry topics and provide knowledgeable challenge to senior clients in the context of an audit; and
• Takes pride in their work and in the Audit profession. Shows resilience and demonstrates dedication to self development including being agile and innovative in the digital world.
