Job description

Cyclic Materials™ is building a resilient circular supply chain for rare earth elements and other critical materials. Our proprietary two-phase process unlocks value from end-of-life products by efficiently recycling rare earths back to a high-purity form. Cyclic Materials offers a scalable, rapid and resource-efficient solution to complement traditional mining in creating supply of rare earths. These materials are critical to the modern economy, including the production of electric vehicles, electronics, AI infrastructure, wind turbines, defense, and advanced manufacturing technologies.

Founded in 2021, Cyclic Materials has rapidly progressed from technology development to commercialization. We currently operate facilities in Ontario and Arizona, with a new expansion underway in South Carolina. Backed by US$75 million in Series C financing led by T. Rowe Price, alongside strategic investors including Microsoft, Amazon, Hitachi Ventures, BMW i Ventures, Jaguar Land Rover’s InMotion fund, Energy Impact Partners, ArcTern Ventures, and Fifth Wall, we are scaling to meet growing global demand for a secure and sustainable rare earth supply.

We are growing quickly and building the industrial backbone required for a circular rare earth economy. Joining Cyclic Materials means working on complex and exciting challenges at scale, alongside a team committed to executing and delivering measurable impact. If you are motivated by building critical infrastructure and advancing the circular economy, join us and help accelerate the growth of rare earth recycling.

The Position:

This is not a traditional FP&A role.

We are seeking an elite financial modeller with investment banking or institutional investing experience to become one of the Company's most trusted strategic finance partners. You will own the development, maintenance and continuous improvement of the financial models that underpin executive decision-making, Board reporting, capital raises, project financing, strategic investments, acquisitions and IPO readiness.

You will work directly with the VP, Strategy & FP&A and regularly support the CFO, executive leadership team, Board of Directors, investors and external advisors. Your models will influence hundreds of millions—and ultimately billions—of dollars in capital allocation decisions.

Success requires exceptional modelling discipline, intellectual curiosity, attention to detail, and the ability to build elegant, auditable financial models that withstand institutional due diligence.

Responsibilities:
  • Own and continuously improve the Company's fully integrated corporate financial model
  • Develop sophisticated three-statement operating models supporting executive decision-making
  • Build scenario analyses covering growth strategies, financing alternatives and capital allocation
  • Create long-range strategic planning models extending five to ten years

  • Support Board materials and investment committee presentations
Project & Infrastructure Finance
  • Build and maintain project finance models for multiple North American and European facilities
  • Develop debt sizing, covenant compliance and lender reporting models
  • Evaluate government incentive programs, grants and tax credit opportunities
  • Model manufacturing economics across multiple technologies and jurisdictions
  • Support financing discussions with banks, infrastructure funds and institutional lenders
Executive Decision Support
  • Deliver high-quality analyses directly to executive leadership under tight timelines
  • Identify key business drivers, risks and opportunities
  • Challenge assumptions through rigorous analytical thinking
  • Provide financial support for major commercial and strategic initiatives
  • Support annual planning, forecasting and long-range planning processes
  • Develop KPI dashboards and operational performance models
  • Improve forecasting accuracy through enhanced analytical techniques
  • Partner closely with Accounting to ensure model integrity and consistency
  • Support monthly executive reporting and Board reporting
Process Excellence
  • Create model governance, version control and documentation practices
  • Improve automation and analytical efficiency
  • Maintain rigorous quality control over all financial outputs
  • Ensure models are scalable as the business continues global expansion
The Qualifications:
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering or a related discipline
  • MBA, CFA or CPA considered a strong asset
  • 3–5 years of financial modelling experience within one or more of Investment Banking (ECM, M&A or Industrials); Equity Capital Markets; Late-stage venture capital; Private equity; Infrastructure investing; and Project finance
  • Demonstrated experience building sophisticated institutional-quality financial models
  • Experience supporting capital raises, strategic transactions or major investments
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel expertise (expert-level modelling skills)
Preferred
  • Metals, mining, energy transition, industrials or infrastructure sectors
  • Manufacturing or project finance modelling
  • Public company or IPO preparation experience
  • Corporate reporting in USD
  • Multi-entity and multinational modelling
  • Experience working with executive leadership and Boards
What Makes You Exceptional:

You are known as the person whose models everyone trusts.

You combine investment banking modelling discipline with commercial judgment. Your work is technically flawless, logically structured and immediately understandable by executives, investors and lenders.

You naturally question assumptions, identify inconsistencies before others do, and take personal ownership of every number that leaves your desk.

You thrive in high-growth environments where priorities shift quickly, timelines are demanding and expectations are exceptionally high.
