Job summary

Woodbridge Group, a global foam technology leader, seeks a Materials Supervisor/Manager to oversee scheduling, inventory, warehousing, and MRP in a Tier 1 environment. You will manage the materials team, ensure HS&E compliance, and coordinate with IT and Finance on inventory and audits.

You will influence KPI delivery, optimize freight costs, and support continuous improvement while collaborating across departments to meet production goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Operations and/or Supply Chain Management.
• Minimum 5 years as Materials Supervisor/Manager in Tier 1 environment.
• Strong ERP and MS Office proficiency.
• Automotive Tier 1 OEM experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Contribute as a key member of the plant management team.
• Own and drive assigned KPI, goals and performance management.
• Manage materials function including scheduling of production and inventory levels.
• Supervise materials dept including HS&E functions as assigned.
• Manage warehousing, shipping and receiving activities.
• Analyze and interpret customer releases and perform MRP.
• Lead cost optimization and supplier liaison with IT as needed.
• Lead physical inventory, audits (IATF/ISO14001) and APQP processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Contribute as a key member of the plant management team.
• Own and drive assigned KPI, Goals, Performance Management expectations
• Manage the materials function including scheduling of production and maintenance of optimum raw materials and finished goods inventory levels.
• Supervise materials department including HS&E functions, as assigned by the WKFP HS&E Appendix A, as well as assigned WPS tasks.
• Management of warehousing, shipping and receiving activities.
• Analysis and interpretation of customer releases.
• Perform MRP and generate vendor releases.
• Optimization of freight cost.
• Responsible for AS400 information and liaison with IT department.
• Responsible for implementation of safe work practices.
• Provide backup coverage for shipping and receiving, as needed.
• Lead and monitor cycle count frequency, accuracy, recounts, adjustments and investigation of issues until resolved.
• Leads, coordinates in conjunction with Finance and all departments preparation and execution of Physical Inventory
• Participate and Lead in Audits and Assessments – IATF / ISO14001 / Internal HSE etc
• Participate in APQP process

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

• Knowledge and skills of computerized materials scheduling and inventory control including kanban scheduling techniques, production scheduling, purchasing, traffic and warehouse functions including shipping and receiving in a JIT environment.
• Knowledge of ERP systems such as AS400, Epicor or other similar systems.
• Strong proficiency with database applications and administration systems, specifically Microsoft Office.
• Strong interpersonal, communication (verbal and written) and supervisory skills.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents.
• Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints.
• Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
• Tier 1 automotive experience to OEM (Toyota, Ford, GM, Rivian)
• Direct experience with customer portals - Covisint, eDDL, SupplyPower, ts.com and Ascent

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university or equivalent combination of education and experience in Operations and/or Supply Chain Management.
• Five years of experience as a Materials Supervisor/Manager or a related role in tier 1 environment.
