Job summary

Mastronardi Produce is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor for our facility. You will oversee maintenance procedures, implement preventive programs and ensure safety, compliance, and high-quality workmanship.

You will also supervise maintenance staff, assist in hiring, and coordinate schedules and subcontracting. Required are five years of plant maintenance and five years of supervisory experience, a high school diploma, and the ability to work on-call.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

  • Follows, develops and updates facility maintenance procedures and system descriptions.
  • Establishes and maintains preventive maintenance programs.
  • Ensures maintenance at facility is done within safe, legal and contractually permissible limits.
  • Responsible for authorizing repairs/work orders in conjunction with the General Manager.
  • Assists in hiring of facility Maintenance personnel.
  • Provides performance related feedback and formal evaluations for maintenance personnel.
  • Promotes teamwork and productivity among maintenance personnel.
  • Develops, refines and administers maintenance qualification and training programs.
  • Coordinates and supervises an efficient and reliable maintenance personnel schedule.
  • Maintain spare parts history and inventory control.
  • Establish and maintain a tool control program.
  • Maintains high level of interaction with maintenance personnel.
  • Knowledgeable of our climate control system (ability to be trained).
  • Coordinate needs with General Manager for current and upcoming projects.
  • Coordinate maintenance subcontracting as required.
  • Exterior maintenance - Landscaping, lighting, upkeep of paved surfaces.
  • Perimeter walks to keep building exterior tidy.
  • Winter snow removal and salting; doorways, driveways, parking surfaces.
  • Provide feedback to maintenance personnel related to coaching, development, and discipline.

Primary Responsibilities:

Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
  • Requires a thorough understanding of all aspects of facility maintenance, and a good working knowledge of electrical, carpentry, welding, and plumbing.
  • Requires strong verbal and written communications skills, and interpersonal skills necessary to supervise personnel.
  • Requires five (5) years of related plant maintenance experience or equivalent.
  • Requires five (5) years of related supervisory experience or equivalent.
  • Flexibility to be on call 24/7
  • Able to access the internet from home to work remotely
  • Ability to work at heights
  • Self-motivated, positive attitude, work independently
  • Forklift certification or ability to be trained
  • First aid certification or ability to be trained
Working Conditions:
  • Position requires sitting, standing, walking and bending on a regular basis.
  • Must be able to lift 30 pounds. Limited kneeling, squatting and crawling required.
  • Must have manual dexterity to perform computer skills.

Compensation:
