Qualifications

  • University degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Project Management or an equivalent combination.
  • Experience managing project life cycle, resource planning, risk management, and performance measurement.
  • Experience leading multiple concurrent initiatives, with budget and schedule responsibility.
  • Knowledge of emerging technologies, multimedia and IT infrastructure in large construction projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead high-profile IT/PMO projects central to modernization of Canada's Parliamentary Precinct.
  • Oversee multiple complex projects and guide cross-functional teams.
  • Collaborate with Parliament, the Senate, the Library, and external stakeholders.
  • Deliver large-scale infrastructure initiatives with secure connectivity and integrated IT within refurbishment programs.

Job Description

The House of Commons’ Digital Services and Real Property is currently looking to staff the Manager, IT Project Management Office position.

As the Manager, IT Project Management Office (PMO), you will lead high-profile projects that are central to the modernization of Canada’s Parliamentary Precinct. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape and deliver large-scale infrastructure initiatives—integrating advanced technologies, multimedia solutions, and secure connectivity—within one of the country’s most iconic and historic settings.

As a strategic leader, you will oversee multiple complex projects, guide cross-functional teams, and work closely with partners across Parliament, the Senate, the Library, and external stakeholders. Qualifications

Education:

  • University degree in either Computer Science, Engineering, Project Management OR an acceptable combination of post-secondary education with relevant experience.

Experiences:

  • Experience in project and program management, including project life cycle, resource planning, risk management, and performance measurement;
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent initiatives, setting priorities, and delivering results on time and within budget;
  • Demonstrated expertise in stakeholder engagement, negotiation, conflict resolution, and team leadership in a matrix environment;
  • Knowledge of emerging technologies, multimedia, integrated security systems, and IT infrastructure in the context of large construction or refurbishment projects;
  • Experience in coaching, mentoring, and developing team members to achieve high performance and career growth.

Assets:

  • Familiarity with governmental processes such as Governance and procurements, heritage building renovation projects, and parliamentary operations;
  • PMP or Prince2 certifications.
