LOCATION AND ABOUT NHH
Located approximately 100 kilometres east of Toronto, NHH delivers a broad range of acute, post-acute, outpatient and diagnostic services. Acute services include emergency and intensive care, medical/surgical care, obstetrical care and palliative care. Post-acute specialty services (PASS) include restorative care and rehabilitation. Mental health care, cancer and supportive care, dialysis and other ambulatory care clinics are offered on an outpatient basis through partnerships with regional centres and nearby specialists. NHH offers a full range of diagnostic services, including magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computed tomography (CT) and mammography. The hospital serves the catchment area of west Northumberland County. A mixed urban and rural population of approximately 67,000 residents, west Northumberland comprises the Town of Cobourg, the Municipality of Port Hope, Alderville First Nation and the townships of Hamilton, Cramahe and Alnwick/Haldimand. Role Overview
Reporting to the Director, Information Technology, the
Manager, IT Operations and Applications provides leadership, support, and guidance for the Information Technology department for all items concerning IT Business Operations, IT Applications, IT Service Desk and Project Management as it relates to IT. This position is responsible for day-to-day management and the ongoing development of the functional areas within the portfolio. These functions are performed in accordance with the strategic plan, philosophy, and values of NHH and include analysis and implementation of regional integration strategies among other hospitals, health care agencies and potential partners in the public or private sectors along with following legislation including specific regulations related to the role. This role is responsible for working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure operational processes and services are delivered to support the organization. This leader fosters an environment that promotes a teamwork approach to the achievement of objectives and the provision of high-quality services.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Graduate of a recognized post-secondary bachelors education program preferably in computer science, engineering, business administration or another related field from an accredited institution and / or equivalent experience required
- Master’s level education an asset.
- Minimum five (5) years experience in a senior-level information technology position, preferably in the healthcare sector.
- Previous Hospital experience is required.
- Experience with HL7 interfaces, databases an asset
- Demonstrated professional, leadership and operations experience
- Previous experience with IT security and compliance standards and best practices required.
- Experience shaping business and technology strategy at leadership level; with strong understanding of information technology and telecommunication systems and infrastructure, including servers, networks, and storage is an asset
- Experience and advanced knowledge of networking and related hardware (routers, switches, firewalls, servers, etc.) is an asset
- Experience working in agile delivery models preferred.
- Other certification (Lean/Six Sigma, ITIL, Change Management) is an asset.
- Proficiency in project management tools such as MS Project is an asset.
- Familiarity with data analytics tools such as Power BI, Tableau, and Alteryx is an asset.
Employment Requirements
Successful applicants are required provide a satisfactory vulnerable sector criminal reference check, that was complete less than one year from the date of hire. This requirement must be met within the first sixty (60) days of employment.
Additionally, to the above, successful applicants are also required to complete the Health Care Worker Health review process which includes providing an up-to-date immunization record to ensure compliance with the Ontario Hospital Association Communicable Diseases Surveillance Protocols within the first thirty (30) days of employment. Northumberland Hills Hospital operates a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy for all staff.
