Job description

Our client is seeking an engaged and passionate Manager, Information Technology & Business Systems.

This position provides strategic oversight of Clients' technology ecosystem, including enterprise systems, ERP capabilities, and the relationship with the company's MSP. The role ensures that technology initiatives align with business objectives, support scalable growth, and generate a clear return on investment. As the company's top technology leader, it acts as Clients' head of IT, driving the modernization and automation of business processes to reduce dependence on manual workarounds.

Your Success Will Be Defined By Your Ability To
  • Build and maintain a multi‑year technology roadmap tied to the company's growth plan. Draw on input from operations, manufacturing, and corporate services, and stay current on emerging technologies, including AI and automation, identifying where they can lift productivity and contribute to growth. Bring clear, costed recommendations to the leadership team
  • Act as the internal owner of the ERP (Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central) and connected systems (accounting, payroll, sales, CRM, warehouse, and production), accountable for getting full value from them and for closing the gaps where the business still relies on manual workarounds. This includes leading the rollout of Allmoxy, the new manufacturing system, extending systems into areas they do not yet serve such as supply chain, and moving processes like pricing (the current Price Pages spreadsheets) into managed systems
  • Own and continuously improve the company's SharePoint environment as the platform for document management, internal communication, and team collaboration. Organizing and restructuring SharePoint is a major near‑term priority: establishing a clear site structure, sensible permissions, version control, and reliable search so staff can consistently find current documents and the company reduces duplicate and out‑of‑date files
  • Build the reporting and dashboards leadership needs to run the business on data rather than manual spreadsheets
  • Define, track, and refine the KPIs that show whether technology is delivering, including system performance and availability, data accuracy, support effectiveness, and ERP and process efficiency
  • Own the relationship with the MSP and other technology vendors, holding them to agreed service levels and controlling spend
  • Own the company's security posture, data protection, and disaster recovery plan, which is the tested plan for restoring systems and data after an outage, cyberattack, or hardware failure
  • Develop and maintain IT policies and standards covering architecture, security, acceptable use, purchasing, and service delivery, and ensure systems such as the ERP meet relevant industry standards and internal compliance requirements
  • Lead technology projects end to end, with proper planning, change management, training, and a post‑implementation check that the investment paid off
  • Own the IT operating and capital budget, forecasting and controlling technology spend in line with business priorities
  • Lead, develop, and manage the ERP Analyst / Administrator, and make sure the IT function has the talent it needs as the company grows. This covers hiring, performance reviews, individual development plans, recognition, and supporting morale and retention, in partnership with Human Resources
  • Operate as a member of the management team, build strong working relationships across the branches and corporate office, and foster a service‑oriented IT culture with open communication. Provide staff training on systems and promote effective, responsible use of technology
Your strengths include:
  • 7+ years in IT, including 3+ years leading IT or business systems at a small or mid‑sized company
  • Hands‑on ownership of an ERP system, with direct experience of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central strongly preferred
  • Strong, hands‑on SharePoint skills, including administering and configuring SharePoint for document management, collaboration, and intranet or portal use
  • Strong change management skills, with a demonstrated record of leading staff through technology and process change and driving adoption
  • Experience managing third‑party providers / MSPs and technology vendors and contracts
  • Comfort building business cases, budgets, and cost/benefit analyses
  • Working knowledge of IT security, backup, and disaster recovery practices
  • Proven ability to translate business needs into technology solutions and to communicate clearly with non‑technical leaders
