Position Summary... The Manager, Industrial Engineering at Walmart leads the planning and execution of high-value projects, focusing on process optimization, technology solutions, and sustainability initiatives to enhance logistics capabilities and support business objectives.

What you'll do... The Manager, Industrial Engineering manages the planning and execution of complex projects within Walmart's distribution network. Responsibilities include assessing project feasibility, building business cases and budgets, coordinating stakeholder meetings, managing design, installation, and commissioning, reporting on project status and risks, and conducting project closures and best practice sharing. The role also involves providing post-go-live support, leveraging analytics, and building dashboards.

The Manager leads logistics assessments, facility design, process optimization, and continuous improvement events in collaboration with various teams. Staying updated on supply chain technology, researching solutions, and collaborating with vendors are key aspects. The role includes providing technical recommendations, supporting long-range planning and budgeting, and supporting Walmart’s transition to sustainability and digital transformation. Building and maintaining cross-functional relationships and recommending best practices are essential. The role also involves conducting facility capacity assessments, supporting engineering frameworks related to AutoCAD, distribution center racking, and re-slotting analyses to ensure compliance.

The Manager provides leadership, coaching, and mentoring to engineers and interns, ensuring department deliverables are met. Supporting development plans and training for career growth and succession planning is also part of the role. Collaboration with logistics leadership to support engineering initiatives aligned with Walmart’s strategic goals is expected.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
  • Master's degree or certifications (e.g., Six Sigma, PMP) are a plus.
  • Professional Engineering certification (P.Eng) is a plus.
  • 5-7 years of experience in industrial engineering or related field.
  • Knowledge of process improvement methodologies like Lean and Six Sigma.
  • Proficiency in tools/software such as AutoCAD, Minitab, Arena, Power BI, Tableau, SQL.

Minimum Qualifications: Age 16 or older.
