Job description

Vancouver, Canada | Posted on 18/09/2026

Staffinity is currently seeking a permanent, full-time Human Resources Manager for an established, rapidly growing Canadian wealth management and alternative investment firm.

This role is based in Vancouver, BC (with strong consideration for Toronto, ON for exceptionally qualified candidates). Working closely with the CEO and executive leadership, this individual will take full ownership of the HR function, building and modernizing HR infrastructure, harmonizing employment contracts across British Columbia and Ontario, and supporting a team of over 70 financial professionals nationwide.

Why Work With Us?
  • Direct Executive Access: Report directly to the CEO and serve as a strategic partner to the executive leadership team.
  • Build & Shape Infrastructure: Step into a firm where core operational policies are ~60% established, giving you the runway to design, streamline, and implement lasting HR frameworks and cross-provincial employment agreements.
  • Entrepreneurial Scale: Join an expanding investment platform managing assets for high-net-worth clients across Canada with institutional backing.
  • Comprehensive Compensation: Base salary of $80,000 - $120,000 (negotiable based on relevant institutional experience) plus performance bonus and comprehensive health benefits.
Key Responsibilities
  • Cross-Provincial HR Infrastructure: Review, develop, and standardize company-wide HR policies, employee handbooks, and operational frameworks, with an immediate focus on streamlining and harmonizing employment agreements between British Columbia and Ontario jurisdictions.
  • Talent Acquisition & Pipeline: Lead end-to-end recruitment for corporate, investment advisory, and compliance teams, establishing scalable hiring workflows and candidate pipelines.
  • Total Rewards & Performance: Support annual compensation benchmarking, performance appraisal cycles, incentive compensation plans, and retention strategies aligned with industry standards.
  • Employee Relations & Governance: Serve as the trusted advisor for employee relations, workplace standards, compliance documentation, and progressive disciplinary actions.
  • Organizational Development: Partner with department heads to support succession planning, role progression, onboarding programs, and retention initiatives.
Qualifications
  • HR Experience: 5+ years of progressive human resources generalist/managerial experience, including full-cycle recruitment, employee relations, and policy development.
  • Financial Services Background: 3+ years of HR experience within financial institutions, wealth management platforms, asset managers, or multinational banking environments. Experience navigating fast-paced, matrixed, or APAC-linked institutional environments is strongly preferred.
  • Employment Standards Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of British Columbia and Ontario employment legislation, statutory compliance, and contractual standards.
  • Language Proficiency: Professional fluency in Mandarin and English (spoken and written) is required to support communication with key internal stakeholders and international business partners. Fluency in Cantonese is considered a strong asset.
  • Work Style: Hands-on builder mindset with the ability to operate autonomously, execute daily administration, and advise senior executives.
  • Location: Based in Vancouver, BC. Exceptional candidates located in Toronto, ON who meet 100% of all preferred criteria will also be considered.
  • Base Salary: $80,000 - $120,000 per year (commensurate with depth of financial sector experience)
Compensation & Benefits
  • Incentives: Discretionary annual performance bonus
  • Health & Wellness: Comprehensive medical, dental, vision care, and on-site wellness facilities
  • Professional Growth: Tuition reimbursement and ongoing development support
  • Paid Time Off: Paid vacation plus company-sponsored team events
