RBC is seeking an execution-oriented Manager, HR Digital Risk Management to embed enterprise risk and compliance into HR technologies and platforms. You will partner with Product Owners and risk teams to ensure controls, audits, and risk remediation are embedded in HR systems, while enabling secure and compliant digital capabilities.

The role emphasizes collaboration across risk, product, and HR teams, driving consistency in risk governance, and supporting audits and remediation activities.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in HR technology, IT risk management, digital program management, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of HR technologies and platforms.
  • Enterprise risk areas knowledge (privacy, 3rd-party, BCM, IT risk).
  • Experience supporting control documentation, audit evidence gathering, and issue remediation tracking.
  • Ability to interpret risk and compliance requirements into actionable steps for business/tech teams.
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills across cross-functional teams.
  • Problem solver with strong critical thinking and execution, able to navigate ambiguity.
  • Agility and adaptability to evolving priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Risk Manager for HR systems; lead end-to-end risk management with Risk Owners.
  • Act as primary contact between Risk Owners and 2nd Line of Defense; monitor policies and communicate requirements.
  • Manage outstanding risk issues/findings and support risk controls.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners to assess risks from system changes or new digital capabilities.
  • Support risk validation for ethical, secure adoption of emerging digital capabilities (AI, automation).
  • Assess third-party risk for vendor-delivered apps and ensure remediation of gaps.

Job Description
What is the Opportunity?

RBC offers an exciting role as an execution-oriented Manager, HR Digital Risk Management to join our HR Digital Solutions (HRDS) team. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring that enterprise risk and compliance requirements are embedded into day-to-day operations of HR technologies and platforms. You will work at the intersection of digital enablement, operational resilience, and enterprise compliance – helping ensure that the HR digital platforms and tools are reliable, compliant, and delivering value.

What will you do?
  • Serve as the Risk Manager for the designated HR systems managed by the HRDS team; Build strong working knowledge of supported systems and lead the end-to-end risk management activities in close partnership with Product Owners/ App Custodians (i.e., Risk Owners), ensuring risk obligations are met across all applicable risk areas.

  • Act as the primary contact point between the Risk Owners and 1b & 2nd Line of Defense (i.e., HR Risk & Compliance team, Group Risk Management, Enterprise Compliance, Risk Centres of Governance etc.), monitoring evolving enterprise risk policies and industry standards and ensuring the requirements are interpreted and communicated to the Risk Owners.

  • Manage outstanding risk issues/ findings and support Product Owners/ App Custodians in operationalizing risk controls, ensuring no past due issues/ findings.

  • Collaborate with Product Owners/ App Custodians to identify and assess risks associated with system changes or the introduction of new digital capabilities.

  • Support the risk validation processes to ensure ethical, secure, and responsible adoption of emerging digital capabilities (e.g., automation, AI).

  • Assess and monitor third-party risk for vendor-delivered applications, ensuring compliance with RBC supplier management standards and timely remediation of identified gaps.

  • Support the Product Owners/ App Custodians in responding to internal or external audits by communicating with auditors, coordinating evidence collection, completing supporting documentation, and tracking follow-up on remediation actions.

  • Provide support for escalated enterprise issues for the designated HR systems, ensuring prompt risk reporting as needed.

  • Foster risk awareness and create guiding materials and reference resources (e.g., foundational information for the supported systems and commonly required risk-related information) to build risk capability within the HRDS team.

What do you need to succeed?
Must have:
  • 5+ years in HR technology, IT risk management, digital program management, or a related field.

  • Strong understanding of HR technologies and platforms, including how they support HR business processes.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of enterprise risk areas (privacy risk, third-party risk, business continuity risk etc.), particularly related to digital compliance and governance (IT risk, model risk etc.).

  • Experience supporting control documentation, audit evidence gathering, and issue remediation tracking.

  • Proven ability to interpret risk and compliance requirements and translate them into actionable steps for business and technical teams.

  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams (across business, technology, and risk) and navigate complex stakeholder groups.

  • Known as a problem solver or a doer with strong critical thinking and execution skills – able to navigate ambiguity, break down complex issues, and push actions forward with persistence.

  • Demonstrate agility and adaptability, with the ability to navigate and adapt to evolving priorities.
