Job summary

Scotiabank in Toronto is seeking a Manager, Business Risk Management for Global Insurance. You will execute first-line non-financial risk programs, coordinate with in-country teams, and promote timely remediation of control gaps in line with Bank policies and regulatory requirements.

You will build strong relationships with International Banking, Global Insurance, Compliance, Internal Audit, and risk partners to strengthen controls across product manufacturing, distribution, and reinsurance.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of progressive experience in risk management, compliance, or internal controls.
• Experience across multiple jurisdictions and international operations is preferred.
• Ability to analyze risk indicators and identify trends and control weaknesses.
• Strong written and verbal communication for management and cross-functional partners.

Responsibilities

• Champion a risk-aware culture and apply bank policies across Global Insurance.
• Coordinate with Compliance, Internal Audit, and Risk Management teams on programs.
• Support or lead ABAC, AML, regulatory compliance, and issues management activities.
• Identify control gaps and develop action plans with local teams until closure.
