Key Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Director, Mine Engineering, the Manager, Geology will be an integral member of an experienced corporate engineering team working on a broad spectrum of projects at various stages of design, permitting, construction and operation. Based in Vancouver, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing exploration and drill hole data, resource model updates and planning exploration activities. The Manager, Geology will also provide technical support at the corporate level to help advance Taseko’s pipeline of development projects and evaluate potentially accretive acquisitions.

Core Responsibilities:

• Manage drill hole database and resource model updates to incorporate incremental drilling results
• Review and recommend changes or updates to site geological models to improve quality and accuracy
• Oversee the estimation of mineral resources in accordance CIM Best Practice Guidelines and Definition Standards
• Supervise the interpretation and analysis of geological data including exploration and drilling information to update geological models and define current and future exploration targets
• Ensure data collection, sampling and QA/QC programs are completed in accordance with CIM Mineral Exploration Best Practice Guidelines
• Develop multi-year exploration strategies for Taseko’s operations and development projects to identify, prioritize and investigate potential targets and support Taseko’s tenure maintenance strategy
• Assume a project management role for geological studies, including developing scopes of work, evaluating consultant proposals, coordinating deliverables and controlling costs
• Present results of studies and projects to executive level staff in Vancouver through a variety of methods not limited to, but including, written reports, memos, live presentations, and informal meetings
• Public disclosure and reporting including preparation of relevant NI 43-101 Technical Report sections and Assessment Reports
• Provide technical support to help advance Taseko’s pipeline of development projects and evaluate potentially accretive acquisitions
• Adhere to Taseko’s PPMP and internal procedures to produce high-quality geoscience work
• Liaise with project staff, consultants and contractors and occasionally travel to sites to provide technical support and conduct field reviews
• Participate in professional organizations and stay current on industry trends and developments

Professional Experience / Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Geology with a minimum of 10 years of related technical and supervisory experience
• Registration as a Professional Geoscientist with EGBC in good standing
• Demonstrated knowledge of drill hole databases, geo-statistics and resource modelling
• Familiarity with Minesight, Leapfrog Geo, Datashed and Microsoft Office software
• Exploration program management experience would be beneficial
