A career as a Manager, Financing Solutions in the team of Commercial Banking at National Bank is to act as leader providing strategic and operational direction for the account specialist team, with direct oversight of account specialists focusing on business opportunities < $2MM. This role performs credit underwriting, monitoring and adjudication on a diversified commercial banking book in the commercial banking space. This job allows you to have a positive impact on the organization through implementing credit policies, conduct credit reviews, and ensure that the approval procedures, standards of credit control, and portfolio maintenance conform to regulations & controls.

  • Provide leadership of the Specialist team to support achievement of branch financial objectives for business opportunities under $2MM through effective and timely credit underwriting & approving deals of new & existing clients, while balancing risk and reward in line with NBC’s risk appetite.
  • Support the team in identifying full-service solutions for clients & actively referring other NBC lines of business - with the view to be every client’s primary financial partner.
  • Participate in developing recommendations for driving deeper business relationships with existing clientele.
  • With the team, optimize overall profitability of relationships based on return guidelines, customer risk profile, total banking relationship, and the business environment.
  • Act as a credit subject matter expert, including relevant industry and market trends and the associated credit structuring.
  • Manage credit activities to ensure prudent lending with proactive risk management, inclusive of timely monitoring, due diligence, and recommendation. Ensure required reports and financial data are received and analyzed promptly in accordance with loan commitments & assist with management of negative trending accounts. Certify all products and services are sold in adherence to regulations, minimizing operational risk
  • Lead team execution, deployment, and adherence to all policies and procedures, in consultation with leaders to maintain satisfactory internal audit reports and to meet all compliance objectives

  • Knowledge of functions of risk management, banking, business lending
  • 4+ years of e xperience in commercial credit underwriting across a broad range of industries with directly leadership & coaching experience.
