A career as a Manager, Financing Solutions in the Commercial Banking team at National Bank involves providing strategic and operational leadership for the account specialist team, focusing on business opportunities under $2MM. This role includes credit underwriting, monitoring, and adjudication within a diversified commercial banking portfolio, ensuring compliance with credit policies, conducting reviews, and maintaining standards in line with regulations and controls.

  • Lead the Specialist team to achieve branch financial goals through effective credit underwriting and deal approvals for new and existing clients, balancing risk and reward according to NBC’s risk appetite.
  • Support the team in identifying comprehensive solutions for clients and referring them to other NBC lines of business to foster deeper relationships.
  • Develop strategies to deepen business relationships with existing clients.
  • Optimize profitability based on return guidelines, customer risk profiles, total banking relationships, and the business environment.
  • Act as a credit subject matter expert, staying informed on industry and market trends and structuring credit accordingly.
  • Manage credit activities prudently, including monitoring, due diligence, and recommendations, ensuring timely analysis of financial data and managing accounts with negative trends.
  • Ensure all products and services sold adhere to regulations, minimizing operational risks.

You will be part of a team of 7 within the commercial banking sector, reporting to the Senior Manager. Basic requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in commerce, finance, or accounting, with relevant experience
  • Knowledge of risk management, banking, and business lending functions
  • 4+ years of experience in commercial credit underwriting across various industries, with leadership and coaching experience
