A career as a Manager, Financing Solutions in the Commercial Banking team at National Bank involves providing credit structuring, credit underwriting, risk management, and client-facing support for a diverse client portfolio with average loan volumes primarily over $10MM. The role includes performing credit underwriting, monitoring, and adjudication within the Mid-Market commercial banking space. It offers the opportunity to positively impact the organization through a thorough understanding of credit policies and arrangements, with ongoing development of knowledge related to unique credit structures. The position involves daily contact with clients and relationship managers, and acts as a mentor to the specialist team.

  1. Credit Underwriting: Support sales teams by providing effective and timely credit assessments for new and existing clients. Manage risks and client relationships, and collaborate to develop comprehensive client solutions.
  2. Risk Management: Use knowledge of credit policies to mitigate risks, ensure proper measures are in place, and balance risk and reward in line with NBC’s risk appetite. Monitor and perform due diligence to minimize operational losses.
  3. Client Experience: Engage with clients regularly to retain high-value clients, understand their needs, and refer them to other business partners within NBC.
  4. Play-to-Win Leadership: Demonstrate leadership aligned with company values, foster a positive and inclusive work environment, champion change, coach team members, and invest in talent development.

Your team

You will be part of a team of 9 colleagues within the commercial banking sector, reporting to a Senior Manager. The team is known for its exceptional service and support, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment with flexible, hybrid working arrangements.

Basic requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in commerce, finance, or accounting, with 6 years of experience
  • Knowledge of risk management, banking, and business lending functions
  • Experience in commercial credit underwriting across various industries, with leadership and coaching experience
