Job description

Are you a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with proven experience in a financial reporting-focused role within a large corporate environment looking for a new and challenging opportunity? Our client in Halifax, NS is currently seeking a skilled Manager, Financial Reporting to join their team. This is a permanent role, responsible for leading the preparation and delivery of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages.

Key Responsibilities for the Job :
  1. Lead preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  2. Lead and deliver annual audited financial statements.
  3. Budget development.
  4. Manage fixed assets and depreciation records.
  5. Manage long-term department schedules, leasing, and other financing requirements.
  6. Provide financial reports for senior leadership.
  7. Coordinate and support year-end audits.
  8. Team management, coaching, and mentorship.
  9. Perform other ad hoc financial and accounting analysis duties as required.
Skills & Attributes for Success :
  1. Chartered Professional Accountant designation.
  2. Minimum 3 – 5 years’ experience in a similar role with management responsibilities.
  3. Previous experience in a large organization is an asset.
  4. Proven leadership and relationship-building skills.
  5. Proven success in a high-growth, constantly changing environment.
  6. Adaptability and strong problem resolution skills.
