Job summary

EY is seeking a FAAS FSO Manager to expand the FAAS service in the Financial Services sector, including Banking, Capital Markets, Insurance and Asset Management. You will work with CFOs to improve disclosures, reporting, and performance, drawing on a wide EY network and tools.

You will lead engagements, develop relationships, and contribute to practice development while supporting finance leaders across the function. This role offers a path for growth within EY’s global platform.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration or data management/analysis.
  • 5–7 years of FS experience in banking, capital markets, insurance, asset management or FS finance roles.
  • Deep knowledge of R2R, P2P, O2C, FP&A, Treasury, regulatory and management reporting.
  • Experience in financial accounting or audit, financial analysis, process optimization/documentation.
  • Knowledge of IFRS 9/17/18 and financial statement close processes.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships across EY service teams.
  • Support finance transformation engagements from assessment to implementation.
  • Deliver pragmatic finance/FP&A insights using proven delivery methods.

The Opportunity

As a professional member of our growing FAAS team, you will the exciting prospect of bringing our FAAS team’s service to the Financial Services sector, including Banking, Capital Markets, Insurance, Wealth Management and Pension funds.

We understand the evolving role of the CFO and the Finance function, and you will work with our clients to achieve better insights and control outcomes, optimize their performance and use of scarce resources, and guide them through complex accounting, regulatory, disclosure or other transformation initiatives under the CFO’s agenda.

In doing so, you will be a member of, and be able to draw upon a vast network of high caliber professionals, combined with our significant knowledge, tools, technological solutions and cumulative practical experience.

Your Key Responsibilities

As a FAAS FSO Manager, you will actively establish, maintain and strengthen internal and external relationships. You will help to develop and expand long‑term client relationships and networks, as well as develop relationships with team members across all EY practices to service client needs. By drawing on your financial knowledge and experience, you will provide innovative commercial insights for clients by adapting proven industry delivery methods and practices to meet clients’ organizational needs. You will actively contribute to seeking pragmatic solutions to our client's most pressing challenges, whether around financial or regulatory reporting, disclosures, regulatory capital, and reporting challenges, or to improve financial performance by evaluating data integrity and quality, operational and reporting efficiency, and effective decision‑making. You will be expected to support Finance leaders in addressing their challenges across all areas of the finance function. A majority of your time will be spent supporting client engagement teams, working with a wide variety of clients, across multiple sectors, to deliver professional services. In addition, you will support the success of the team through business and practice development.

Skills and Attributes For Success
To Qualify for The Role, You Must Have:
  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration or data management/analysis
  • At least 5 to 7 years of related work experience working in Financial Services, either directly within banking and capital markets, Insurance, Asset Management, or as a Finance professional focusing on the FS sector.
  • Deep knowledge of Record-to-Report (R2R), Procure-to-Pay (P2P), Order-to-Cash (O2C), FP&A, Treasury, Regulatory Reporting, and Management Reporting processes within Banks, Insurers and/or Wealth & Asset Managers
  • Experience in financial accounting or audit, financial analysis, process optimization/documentation
  • Strong understanding ofFinancial Service operations, financial products, and regulatory requirements, including:
    • Regulatory rules applicable to financial institutions in Canada
    • Working knowledge of capital infrastructure (data, systems, models, management and reporting) and management of key metrics.
    • Planning, budgeting, forecasting and stress testing processes
    • Performance measurement and management concepts
    • Process transformation and improvement methodologies
    • Business performance reporting process
    • Key accounting standards relevant to financial institutions, including IFRS 9, IFRS 17 and IFRS 18.
    • Financial accounting and financial statement close process
    • Project and change management methodologies
  • Experience in leading and delivering Finance transformation program/projects that cover the full life cycle of assessment, design and implementation support

  • Basic proficiency in EPM tools such as OneStream, Tagetik, Anaplan, Adaptive, Blackline, etc.

EY reports salary ranges in accordance with applicable provincial pay transparency legislation. Individual salaries within the anticipated salary ranges noted below are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to internal equity, education, relevant experience, knowledge, and applicable skill sets.
