Job summary

  • Certifications such as CBCP or MBCI preferred; IT disaster recovery or cyber resilience credentials valued.
  • Experience with data analysis methods and tools to derive metrics and insights.

  • Lead organization-wide Business Impact Analyses and Business Continuity Planning with global units.
  • Apply a risk-based approach to strengthen continuity practices across geographies.
  • Modernize processes, systems, tools, and controls for resilience.

The Team

CPP Investments takes a disciplined approach to managing risk in support of its mandate to maximize long-term returns without undue risk of loss. The Enterprise Resilience team supports CPP Investments’ preparedness for disruptive events through business continuity, crisis management, and technology disaster recovery practices.

Accountabilities
  • Lead organization-wide Business Impact Analyses and Business Continuity Planning, partnering with business units to develop appropriate recovery strategies for critical processes and global requirements.
  • Apply a risk-based approach to strengthen and continuously improve business continuity practices in response to evolving risks across CPP Investments’ geographies.
  • Modernize the processes, systems, tools, and controls that support business continuity and organizational resilience.
  • Plan, facilitate, and evaluate business continuity exercises and testing, using clear metrics and standardized reporting to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and facilitate business continuity training and coach stakeholders at all levels on the development, maintenance, and testing of effective continuity plans.
  • Support the development of extended outage contingency plans across the organization for critical services supporting CPP Investments, helping strengthen preparedness for prolonged disruptions and maintain continuity of critical business operations.
  • Partner with IT, security, legal, communications, and other stakeholders to support crisis response, including communication protocols, resource allocation, and decision‑making.
  • Maintain awareness of relevant global, national, and local events, assess potential business impacts, and support the Enterprise Resilience team during crises.
  • Support the annual corporate insurance renewal and refresh process, partnering with relevant stakeholders to help assess organizational exposures, validate coverage requirements, and provide information required to support the renewal process.
What You Bring
  • Undergraduate degree or college diploma in a related field.
  • 6+ years of relevant experience, including experience guiding business leaders in developing and documenting recovery strategies that consider global requirements.
  • Professional certification such as CBCP or MBCI, or equivalent, is preferred; certifications in IT disaster recovery, IT governance, or cyber resilience, such as CDRP, BCLE, or CGEIT, are valued.
  • Technology experience with a focus on systems recovery and change management processes.
  • Working knowledge of data analysis methodologies and tools, with the ability to develop metrics, interpret information, and translate insights into recommendations.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office and Tableau.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, facilitation, coaching, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across functions and organizational levels.
