Job summary

Bombardier is seeking a Manager of Engineering for the Program and Engineering - Bombardier Experimental at Marcel-Laurin Plant 1.

You will lead the design organization, manage the program office, and ensure cross-functional collaboration across the Bombardier Experimental Projects portfolio.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• 15+ years of applicable experience.
• Experience in aerospace experimental mechanical and electrical design for ground testing.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects.
• History of recruiting, retaining, and promoting world class talent; develops staff.
• Comfortable in a high volume, fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
• Self-confident with influencing, oral presentation, and leadership skills.
• Eligible for CGD Program and member of Quebec Order of Engineer.
• Fully bilingual (French and English).

Responsibilities

• Responsible for achievement of the Bombardier Experimental Mechanical & Electrical design discipline mandate and deliverables.
• Lead and manage the design organization by ensuring development, engagement, and collaboration.
• Lead and manage the Program office for the department by maintaining project tracking and governance.
• Ensure effective communication and collaboration across function and with internal clients in support of Bombardier Experimental Projects.
• Drive Health and Safety risk management to ensure safety in ground and flight test outfitting designs.
• Drive Continuous Improvement and first-time-right mindset for the Experimental Design and program office disciplines.
• Develop and conduct activities in accordance with company policies, priorities, and budget constraints.
• Manage and develop budgets for the Experimental Design and Program office disciplines.

What are your contributions to the team?

How to thrive in this role?

• You have a bachelor’s degree in engineering, with a minimum of fifteen (15) years of applicable experience.
• You have management and leadership experience, including executing performance appraisals, managing staffing allocation, process leadership and career development.
• You have strong knowledge and experience of aerospace experimental mechanical and electrical design for ground testing.
• You have proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects from initiation to completion.
• You demonstrated history of recruiting, retaining, and promoting world class talent; develops staff members to optimize their potential and their performance.
• You are comfortable working in a high volume, fast-paced, rapidly changing, results-oriented work environment.
• You are Self-confident with exceptional influencing, oral presentation, and leadership skills.
• You are eligible for registration in the Canadian Controlled Goods Directive (CGD) Program.
• You are a member of Quebec’s Order of Engineer.
• You are fully bilingual (French and English).
