Job summary

Qualifications

  • Advanced degrees may substitute for up to two years of work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop or improve tools and processes to increase efficiency.
  • Contribute to training development.
  • Collect, analyze, and consolidate metrics data.
  • Compile budget and project information to develop budgets.
  • Track engineering expenses and timelines against budgets.
  • Create quarterly budget reports as needed.

General Summary:

Provides process, analysis, support, transparency, and insight on product development in order to maintain a steady stream of deliverables. Manages and tracks operational and headcount budgets. Works cross functionally with various teams (i.e., finance, engineering, program management) to forecast and set budgets for programs and meet customer demands on support and tools. Partners with the business, third party vendors, and the broader functional teams to plan and operationalize to help execute overall strategy.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree and 6+ years of Engineering Operations or related work experience.
  • Associate's degree and 8+ years of Engineering Operations or related work experience.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 10+ years of Engineering Operations or related work experience.
  • Completed advanced degrees in a relevant field may be substituted for up to two years (Master’s = one year, Doctorate = two years) of work experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 8+ years of Engineering Operations, Program Management, or related work experience.
  • 1+ year of experience working in a large matrixed organization.
  • 1+ year of work experience in a role requiring interaction with senior leadership (e.g., Director level and above).
  • 1+ year of experience working with operating budgets and/or project financials.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Participates in the development or improvement of tools and processes to increase efficiency.
  • Participates in training development.
  • Collects, analyzes, and consolidates metrics data.
  • Compiles and organizes budget and project information needed to develop budgets.
  • Participates in the tracking and compiling of engineering expenses and timelines against budgets.
  • Participates in creating budget reports quarterly or as needed.
Level of Responsibility:
  • Working under close supervision.
  • Taking responsibility for own work and making decisions with limited impact; impact of decisions is readily apparent; errors made typically only impact timeline (i.e., require additional time to correct).
  • Using verbal and written communication skills to convey basic, routine factual information about day‑to‑day activities to others who are fully knowledgeable in the subject area.
  • Completing most tasks with multiple steps which can be performed in various orders; some planning and prioritization must occur to complete the tasks effectively; mistakes may result in some rework.
  • Exercising some creativity to troubleshoot technical problems or deal with novel circumstances.
  • Using deductive problem solving to solve moderately complex problems; most problems have defined processes of diagnosis/detection; some limited data analysis may be required.

Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits:

$100,000.00 - $150,000.00
