Job Description

Accountable for building, maintaining, and evolving the culture and community of Engineers. Responsible for coaching on knowledge, skills, and performance, building capabilities, and advising engineers to ensure solutions meet business needs and align with technology strategies and industry standards. Includes planning, evaluating, designing, operationalizing, and supporting solutions in compliance with standards.

• Lead and collaborate with a versatile team of software engineers and stakeholders.
• Drive technology design and articulate solutions to senior leadership.
• Emphasize proven design patterns, trade-offs, and incremental changes.
• Manage large RDBMS solutions with strong database knowledge.
• Participate in application development life-cycle: PoC, Design, Build, Test, and Operations.
• Develop functional, technical, and UI designs based on business and system requirements.
• Transform business needs into effective delivery solutions.
• Identify and address issues affecting application integrity.
• Apply technical expertise during incident management and perform impact assessments.
• Mentor junior developers and designers.
• Embrace DevOps culture including CI/CD, Jenkins, and test automation.

Job Requirements

• Undergraduate Degree or Technical Certificate (preferred) or equivalent experience in Banking.
• 10+ years of mainframe application design, development, and support (Financial Industry preferred).
• 2-3 years in leadership or collaborative roles on multi-application solutions.
• Proficiency with mainframe skills: COBOL, JCL, VSAM, TSO, ISPF, IMS DC/DB, zOS Connect.
• Database experience: IMS DB, DB2, IMS MQ.
• Source control: Endevor.
• Job scheduling tools: CA-7, Autosys, AWF.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Agile, ITSM tools (Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow).
• Understanding of Cloud (Azure & VMC2), RESTful APIs, Data Security.

Nice to Have

• Source control tools: SCM, Changeman.
• Mainframe utilities: IDz, ZDT, ADDI, PD tools, IMS Explorer.
• Knowledge of Event Driven MQ solutions like Kafka.
• Industry knowledge of banking compliance, data security, and risk management.
