Reporting to the Director, Emerging & High Growth (EHG), the Manager, EHG Practice provides practice group support to Osler’s Emerging & High Growth Companies Group, leading the EHG resource team, managing operational processes, assisting with business development initiatives, and ensuring the smooth execution of client and internal-facing projects.

Major Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead a national resource team, providing day-to-day support and guidance
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to drive efficiency within the growing practice
  • Work closely with equity management platform vendors (e.g., Carta) to support clients and internal processes
  • Oversee the internal tracking of all national EHG closed transactions, ensuring accurate and timely reporting
  • Assist with the submission of quarterly league table data, reflecting the firm's national EHG activity
  • Provide ongoing operational support to EHG Director to ensure the smooth running of the EHG practice, handling any ad-hoc responsibilities as they arise
  • Collaborate on cross-selling opportunities with other specialty groups
  • Conducts market intelligence and competitive landscape analysis to support strategic decision-making and business development initiatives
  • Support in the managing of internal and external events, including working with local practice support, identifying topics, securing speakers, curating the audience and managing day-to-day activities of sponsorships
  • Partner with Client Development and Marketing on business planning, proposals, deals and cases and market recognition initiatives, including nominations for industry rankings such as Chambers
  • Assist EHG Director with spearheading and implementation of national initiatives

Position Requirements

Education and Experience

University or college diploma, preferably in a business focus, plus a minimum of three years of relevant experience, including people management. Experience working within the legal or professional services industry is preferred.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage team members in diverse roles
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Demonstrates sound judgment, discretion, and a strong commitment to client service
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a structured approach to tasks
  • Excellent time management skills with a consistent follow-through on responsibilities
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships
  • Experience in supporting business development and market intelligence projects, including a track record of driving client relationships and recognition
  • Experience with CRM systems
  • Quick to learn and adapt to established business practices and processes
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to liaise with senior leaders, clients and external stakeholders
  • Strong experience in Microsoft Office

We are currently working in a hybrid work arrangement, which includes a requirement to work primarily in the office and flexibility to work remotely up to 2 days per week.
