What is the opportunity?

As a Manager-Data Quality and Operations, you’ll work in the Financial Resource Optimization (FRO) Data, Systems and Business Solutions team supporting the development and maintenance of the bank’s next-generation data architecture for Regulatory and Economic Capital Measurement. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated, detail-oriented individual with a strong focus on compliance. This role is essential in ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and consistency used in the bank’s capital measurement. You will play a key role in establishing robust data governance frameworks, implementing data quality controls, and utilizing data analysis and visualization tools to monitor data integrity.

What will you do?

  • Data Quality Management: Develop and implement data quality rules, checks, and validation procedures for data used in capital measurement calculations (e.g., RWA, capital ratios). Investigate and resolve data quality issues, collaborating with data owners and IT teams. Conduct regular data quality assessments and monitor data pipelines to ensure data integrity. Generate reports on data quality performance and implement data cleansing and enrichment processes.
  • Data Governance: Contribute to developing and implementing data governance policies, standards, and procedures. Support data dictionary, lineage, and metadata maintenance. Participate in governance meetings and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Data Analysis and Investigation: Use SQL, Python, Spark, and Shell scripting to extract and analyze large datasets. Perform root cause analysis on data issues and investigate anomalies to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Documentation and Compliance: Maintain detailed documentation of data quality processes. Support audits and stay updated on regulatory changes to ensure compliance.
  • Data Visualization and Reporting: Create dashboards and visualizations with Tableau or similar tools. Develop reports to support business and regulatory needs and present findings to senior management.

What you need to succeed?

Must Have

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Business Analytics, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in data analysis, preferably in risk management.
  • Advanced SQL skills and experience with data visualization tools like Tableau.
  • Proficiency in Excel, including Pivot Tables, VBA, and Macros.
  • Knowledge of data governance principles.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with attention to detail.

Nice to Have

  • Scripting skills in Python or similar languages.
  • Knowledge of distributed computing, cloud data warehousing (e.g., Spark, Snowflake).
  • Understanding of bank capital measurement concepts and risk management principles.
  • Experience with data quality tools, ETL processes, and relevant certifications.
