What is the opportunity?

This is a challenging key role within the Corporate Support Finance, Financial Control team. You will be a leading part of the team that ensures appropriate controls and processes are in place to support the accuracy and completeness of the Corporate Support balance sheet and income statement. You will also provide accounting interpretation, guidance, and advice on transactions as they arise.

What you will do?

  • Ensure the provision of accurate and complete financial and regulatory reporting for a subset of groups within Corporate Support.
  • Review reconciliations and documentation packages to assess the sufficiency of source documentation and controls, and ensure the accuracy of month-end balances and attestations.
  • Coordinate with various groups for accurate external reporting, including MD&A, B/S, P&L, note disclosures, regulatory reporting, and supplemental formats.
  • Review month-end reports and prepare journal entries as required.
  • Review accounting policy issues, liaise with the Accounting Policy Group, and maintain technical accounting knowledge to provide guidance on complex transactions.
  • Maintain compliance with global financial control policies, including SOX and End User Control standards.
  • Identify control weaknesses proactively, recommend solutions, and implement new controls where possible.
  • Review systems processes related to the capitalization and allocation of internally developed software costs.
  • Lead special projects as assigned by the Director of Financial Control.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Accounting designation (CPA preferred)
  • 2+ years of professional experience, preferably in the Financial Services Industry
  • Experience interpreting and applying accounting standards in complex transactions
  • Experience identifying and resolving control issues
  • Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
  • Strong management capabilities
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
