Job Description
  1. Review journal entries prepared by the accountants.
  2. Review all bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
  3. Oversee the CAPEX approval process and provide ad-hoc analysis.
  4. Oversee the Fairmont stores accounting process.
  5. Manage Ovations and Gift Card accounting processes, including issuance, redemptions, breakage, and other analyses.
  6. Approve and release bank wires and payments.
  7. Approve new vendors and updates.
  8. Manage monthly reporting to head office, reconciling local and management reporting tools.
  9. Act as intermediary between head office and local team for global reporting directives, including Transfer Pricing.
  10. Prepare complex accounting entries and push down entries from Paris head office.
  11. Balance and reconcile inter-company accounts.
  12. Perform analytic procedures and respond to head office inquiries.
  13. Prepare statutory financial statements and respond to audit requests.
  14. Prepare financial statements and analysis for board meetings.
  15. Support payroll by preparing journal entries and accruals.
  16. Ensure month-end deadlines and resolve inquiries professionally.
  17. Complete government surveys timely.
  18. Perform special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business; CPA is a plus.
  2. Knowledge of accounting principles and IFRS.
  3. Proficiency in journal entries and reconciliations.
  4. Advanced MS Excel skills.
  5. Knowledge of Oracle EBS and Hyperion is an asset.
  6. Understanding of payroll remittances and journal entries (U.S. and Canadian).
  7. Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.
  8. Ability to work under pressure, independently, and in teams.
  9. Excellent communication skills.
  10. Effective time management.
