Reporting to the Director, Community & Social Development, the Manager, Community Development provides strategic and operational leadership for the City’s community development portfolio, including capacity building services, theatre services, events, arts, culture and heritage, as well as the planning of indoor and outdoor spaces that support an active, creative and engaged community.
The Manager, Community Development is responsible for long-term planning, governance, service delivery, financial stewardship, organizational leadership, and fostering collaborative relationships that strengthen community wellbeing and support Council’s strategic priorities and corporate business plans. Through the leadership of specialized service-area Leads, and in partnership with the Manager, Social Development, this position helps ensure the business unit’s services remain responsive, sustainable and positioned to meet the needs of a growing community.
