Job summary

National Bank of Canada is seeking a Senior Account Manager, Commercial Banking to grow a portfolio of business clients and drive financial strategies using Bank products and services. The role requires flexibility for meetings, events, and periodic travel across Canada.

You will partner with the Associate Vice-President, build strong client relationships, and collaborate with other Bank departments to deliver tailored financing and treasury solutions.

Qualifications

  • 5–9 years of business development experience in the financial industry.
  • University certificate with 9 years of experience.
  • Bachelor's degree with 7 years of experience.
  • Master's degree with 5 years of experience.
  • Experience in analysing financial statements.
  • Experience in commercial credit.
  • A network of professional contacts among medium-sized and large local businesses.

Responsibilities

  • Grow the portfolio of business clients and identify opportunities in your market.
  • Propose financial strategies using Bank products and services.
  • Attend client meetings, industry conferences, and networking events as needed.

Job description

As a Senior Account Manager commercial Banking at National Bank, you will be responsible for growing the portfolio of business clients entrusted to you. Your complex and varied tasks will allow you to quickly become the resource person for your clients' financial projects.

Your role
  • Identify and develop business opportunities in your market, increase your business clientele and establish business development strategies.
  • Help your clients achieve their business objectives by proposing financial strategies based on the most appropriate combination of Bank products and services.
  • Flexibility to occasionally attend client meetings, industry conferences, networking events, and business development activities outside of regular business hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Willingness to travel periodically within the region and across Canada as required.
  • Meet changing needs by adapting and optimising financial products and advice/approaches.
  • Negotiate the terms and conditions of agreements with clients, while ensuring that they comply with risk management standards and profitability criteria.
  • Assist the Associate Vice-President in achieving objectives
  • Actively participate in various networking activities (cocktail parties, conferences, etc.)
  • Work in synergy with all other Bank departments

Reporting to the Associate Vice-President, Commercial Banking , you will join a growing team dedicated to supporting one of Canada's largest and most resilient real estate sectors.

Working closely with property managers, boards of directors, developers, and industry professionals, our team provides tailored solutions that support the day‑to‑day operations, capital projects, reserve fund management, and long-term financial objectives of our clients.

Recognized for our collaborative culture, industry expertise, and entrepreneurial mindset, we are building a national platform focused on delivering exceptional client experiences while driving growth in loans, operating deposits, reserve fund deposits, and treasury management services.

This is a relationship-driven business where building strong client and industry connections is key to success. As such, occasional flexibility outside of regular business hours may be required, including attendance at client meetings, board meetings, industry conferences, networking events, and other business development activities during evenings and weekends.
