Job summary

Scotiabank in Toronto is seeking a Manager, Client Engagement & Analytics to lead analytics delivery for the Small Business team. You will design reporting, oversee data architecture on Google Cloud, and partner with data warehouses and IT to ensure timely, accurate insights that drive portfolio health.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Finance, Economics or Statistics.
  • MBA (Finance or Marketing) or MMA preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in Analytics or MIS/Reporting.
  • 5+ years of experience in programming, application development and/or data warehousing.
  • Experience in R or Python, SQL, SAS.
  • Strong working knowledge of Tableau and PowerBI.
  • Strong communication with clients, vendors and management.
  • Strong prioritizing, planning, analytical, presentation, project management and relationship building skills.

  • Collaborate with data warehouse and IT to develop analytics infrastructure for reporting, portfolio management, analytics and segmentation.

  • Create daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting of business results to senior management and stakeholders in Small Business.
  • Ensure alignment with risk appetite, regulatory and conduct risk requirements in daily activities.

Manager, Client Engagement and Analytics

Purpose

Contributes to the overall success of the Business Banking department in Canada by ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

The Manager, Client Engagement & Analytics is responsible for delivering analytics that enables multiple stakeholders in the Small Business team to monitor & manage the health of the portfolio, business activities and results efficiently and effectively based on timely and value added reporting of business performance. The incumbent will leverage his/her subject matter expertise on data, database architecture, application design, reporting and analytical tools to provide timely and accurate reporting by collaborating and providing solutions to multiple business partners.

Accountabilities
  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge; develop, operationalize, and secure data processing systems on Google Cloud Platform.
  • Work closely with data warehouse and IT teams to manage development of analytical infrastructure comprising of databases, data infrastructure and analytical tools to provide sound infrastructure for reporting, portfolio management, analytics, segmentation and statistical modeling. Ensure data enhancement initiatives are appropriately prioritized and implemented on time and budget.
  • Lead advanced analytics use cases for lead generation and customer experience; utilize test and learn methodologies to measure results
  • Lead the creation of daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting of business results to senior management and other stakeholders within the Small Business team, including the Field.
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Engage in high impact technology projects to provide subject matter expertise with respect to data architecture, systems integration and application design. Ensure integration of new advanced analytical tools into the analytical infrastructure.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.
