The Manager, Calendar Planning, is a full-time role reporting to the Director of Calendar Strategy & Menu Development. This role supports the development and optimization of the annual marketing calendar to achieve business KPIs and deliver a strong marketing plan. It requires strategic thinking, process management, and cross-team collaboration to evaluate business opportunities holistically, working across functions both within and outside marketing to understand product pipelines, business potential, operational and timing considerations, assess performance, and communicate effectively with all partners.

Duties

In addition to adhering to McDonald’s policies and procedures, key responsibilities include:

Strategy
  • Define the annual calendar planning process, engaging key stakeholders across internal and franchise leadership teams.
  • Develop annual marketing calendar strategies aligned with business and marketing KPIs, in partnership with the Brand Strategy Director and Marketing Category Managers.
  • Manage scenario planning and collaborate across functions (menu, value, BI, SC, etc.) to ensure timing alignment and plan optimizations.
Communication
  • Create calendar strategy communications to ensure alignment on priorities, lead marketing planning meetings, and represent the marketing team in cross-functional groups (ISC).
  • Support marketing leadership and franchisee engagement through presentations and meetings.
  • Design and implement processes to improve marketing planning efficiency.
Marketing Measurement
  • Partner with Strategy & Insights, Marketing Category teams, agencies, and external partners to enhance performance measurement for campaigns and the overall plan.
  • Assist the Strategy & Insights team with the QBR preparation process.
Qualifications
  • 6+ years of experience in Marketing Strategy & Planning, Brand, or Digital Marketing within a demanding retail, financial, or QSR environment.
  • A customer-centric mindset with a strong understanding of traditional marketing strategies and tactics.
  • Experience coordinating multiple teams at an enterprise level and working with agency partners.
  • Strong analytical skills to differentiate between marketing and business KPIs.
  • Curiosity and entrepreneurial spirit, with comfort in experimenting and reporting results to evolve practices continually.
