Job Purpose

Reporting to the SVP, Business and Legal, this role is responsible for supporting the in-house counsel and overseeing the administration of development contracts, with some responsibilities in production and brand extension contracts. The role involves liaising with agents, executives, and talent to ensure timely contracting and payments, managing correspondence and contract files, drafting, processing, and monitoring agreements, and maintaining familiarity with funding guidelines and guild agreements.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Drafting and coordinating option, WGC, WGA, and ACTRA contracts as needed, liaising with agents to ensure satisfactory contracts.
  • Reviewing and negotiating broadcaster and funder development agreements.
  • Coordinating with Finance and Creative teams to ensure timely processing of talent and funder payments.
  • Maintaining contract and correspondence files, ensuring timely submission of deliverables and invoices.
  • Managing option expiry dates.
  • Assisting with production matters as required.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong attention to detail and drafting skills.
  • Efficient, professional work ethic, and excellent communication skills.
  • Familiarity with WGC, ACTRA, CAVCO regulations, and various Funds' guidelines.
  • High comfort level liaising with creative staff and external stakeholders.
  • Post-secondary education and sound people skills.
  • Computer literacy and excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Industry experience preferred.
