Provides strategic planning, development and continual improvement for the infrastructure records management, condition assessment, and pre‑project capital planning activities of the CMBC Asset Management Program. Ensures the State of Good Repair of CMBC assets is maintained through strategic planning, and life‑cycle management for all CMBC infrastructure, fleet, and related system assets, including asset information/data/records management. Supports the Senior Manager Asset Management in developing the CMBC Asset Management Strategy.
Education and experience: A bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, a Professional Engineering designation or eligibility to register for it, Asset Management Certification or eligibility for certification, plus eight (8) years of experience in progressively responsible roles related to maintenance asset management, capital project management or asset renewal planning. A similar combination of education and experience will be considered.
Other requirements: expert knowledge of the theories, principles, practices, methods and techniques pertaining to full lifecycle asset management within the transportation sector, including ISO 55000. Advanced business and strategic skills to perform a key role in strategic planning, business policy and process development, organization culture and change management. Advanced analytical, problem solving and decision‑making skills. Advanced financial acumen. Advanced interpersonal and communication skills, including relationship building, influencing, negotiation, conflict resolution, diplomacy, tact and presentation skills. Advanced leadership skills to provide coaching, team building, development, performance management, and to manage reporting staff in a unionized environment. Advanced time management and organization skills. Strong knowledge of asset information management systems and databases such as Drawing Management Systems, CMMS, GIS. Highly motivated to improve processes. Strong knowledge of standard office software.
Experience within the maintenance operations disciplines in a unionized environment is an asset. PMP Certification or eligibility for certification is an asset.
Recruitment Process: Demonstrate suitability to meet the minimum qualifications to be invited into the selection process. A standard interview format will be used including general, scenario and behavioural descriptive interview questions.
37.5 hours per week.
Hybrid - this position offers the flexibility of working both on‑site and remotely within B.C.
The salary ranges from $107,200 – $160,800 per annum. It will be based on education, experience, skills and qualifications. Total Compensation Package, which includes Extended Health, Dental, Transit Pass and enrollment in the Public Service Pension Plan, will be discussed in detail during the selection process.
