What Will You Do

Under the direction of the GM, Field Operational Programs & Quality Assurance, the Manager, Airside Training and Standards plays a key role in developing and delivering operational training programs and documentation. Responsibilities include designing and implementing training for new processes, regulatory changes, and ongoing operational improvements. The role involves acting as a subject matter expert in airfield training and documentation best practices, providing leadership, coaching, and supporting on-the-job trainers within the department.

What Are Some Of The Responsibilities
  • Manage the Airside Training Program, including onboarding and recurrent training plans for AEO, Fleet Maintenance, and AOS personnel, ensuring compliance with legislation and regulations.
  • Select effective training delivery methods (virtual or in-person).
  • Continuously improve training programs through needs assessments, content development, and evaluation.
  • Report on program outcomes and metrics.
  • Collaborate with various departments to develop new training strategies and documentation.
  • Conduct training sessions and support OJT instructors.
  • Review and update operational documentation annually.
  • Work with leadership on employee training and development needs.
  • Distribute organizational updates via communication channels.
  • Research and implement emerging training trends and best practices.
  • Maintain accurate training records.
  • Support development plans and goals for Airside Crew.
  • Create and review the Airside Services OJT Program.
  • Assist OJT instructors with course delivery and feedback.
  • Provide expertise on the learning management system for all Airside Crew.
What Do You Need To Bring
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a RAIC.
  • Post-secondary education in instructional design, business, HR, or related fields; relevant experience may substitute.
  • 3+ years’ experience in training program development, preferably in complex operations.
  • 1+ years’ experience in an operational environment, preferably aviation.
  • Expertise in adult education principles, training methodologies, and design.
  • Experience in training delivery, facilitation, and public speaking.
  • Knowledge of documentation management, policies, SOPs, and version control.
  • Experience with document and learning management systems, graphic/video training software.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Meet safety-sensitive position requirements, including drug and alcohol testing.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s license.
Optional Assets
  • Bilingual in English or French.
  • Knowledge of aviation industry and airport operations.
  • Leadership experience and team-building skills.
