Job summary

Jobtailor in Toronto is offering a paid co-op-style internship in Finance Transformation. You will collaborate with Global Markets partners to design and monitor reporting, driving profitable growth by understanding NIAT and streamlining processes with Tableau and Alteryx.

You will contribute to month-end activities and regional planning while supporting departments across Equities, Derivatives, and Securitization Finance.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree in Business, Commerce, Finance, Accounting or related field.
• Intent to return to school at the end of the work term.
• Enrolled or planning to pursue a CPA designation, or committed to pursuing a career in Finance Transformation.
• Financial acumen.
• Curiosity, innovation, and problem-solving orientation.
• Proficiency in Excel and data analysis tools.
• Ability to work effectively in teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic understanding of capital markets / financial products preferred.
• Proficiency in Office applications and software.
• Coding capabilities for process automation/streamlining are an asset.
• Applications must include a transcript, cover letter of one letter-sized page or less, and a resume of maximum 2 pages.
• Must reside in Canada, the country where the role is located.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with business partners to understand client revenue and profitability (NIAT) and inform business decisions driving profitable growth
• Assist with designing and implementing reporting to monitor progress against initiatives across Global Markets
• Simplify and automate existing processes using Tableau and Alteryx
• Support management reporting for Equities, Equities Derivatives, and EQ/Debt Underwriting & Securitization Finance teams
• Perform standard month-end activities
• Streamline Hyperion and source-system bookings to the lowest granularity of business inputs
• Help build regional planning and reporting processes
• Participate in process improvements, data analytics, ad hoc requests, and projects/initiatives
• Work Monday-Friday during standard business hours
