Job summary

Albert Bartlett, a market leader in the potato industry, seeks a diligent Management Accountant to join our finance team in Alberta. This pivotal role owns budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting to empower management with accurate data for decision-making.

Collaborating with the Finance Business Partner and site leadership, you’ll gain hands-on exposure across site finance, commercial analysis, and operational decision-making. Full-time, office based.

Qualifications

• Part qualified accountant with ACCA/CIMA/ACA.
• 2 years experience in manufacturing or FMCG.
• Strong understanding of management accounting principles and practices.
• Proficient in working with standard costing models.
• Experience in P&L, balance sheets, reporting.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in financial data management.

Responsibilities

• Preparation and analysis of weekly and monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to monitor performance against targets.
• Working closely with department heads to support financial planning and decision-making.
• Reconciliation of ledger accounts and investigation of discrepancies.
• Continuous improvement of financial processes and controls.
• Supporting month-end and year-end accounting activities.
• Preparing reports for senior management and stakeholders.

In this pivotal role, you will provide critical financial insights that support our operational and strategic decisions, driving our business growth and success.

As a Management Accountant, you will take ownership of budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting, collaborating closely with various departments to ensure accurate financial data that empowers management to make informed decisions.

Working closely with the Finance Business Partner and wider site leadership team, the successful candidate will gain hands‑on exposure across site finance, commercial analysis, and operational decision‑making.
