Job summary

Operator Thunder Bay, ON is responsible for performing operational and sanitation duties in malting or grain handling operations. Tasks include loading/unloading vessels, operating automated controls, and maintaining cleanliness and safety within the facility.

The role requires a high school diploma (power engineering courses preferred) and practical experience in grain handling or manufacturing. Training and protective equipment are provided by the employer.

Qualifications

• High school diploma; post-secondary education in power engineering preferred.
• Experience in grain handling, food processing or manufacturing is an asset.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to operate automated equipment are required.

Responsibilities

• Load/unload malt vessels using transfer equipment.
• Operate malthouse with automated controls.
• Wash malting vessels with high-pressure hoses.
• Clean vessels with sanitizing agents.
• Operate grain handling facility with automated controls.
• Load/unload grain from railcars and work from heights.
• Sanitize grain elevator and surrounding areas.
