Job summary

Developing World Connections, a Kamloops‑based international development charity, is seeking a Manager of Philanthropy to lead major gifts and broader fundraising. Reporting to the CEO, you will build a year‑round strategy, develop donor relations with individuals, businesses and foundations, and grow a robust major gifts program.

The role requires five years in fundraising, exceptional writing, and the ability to travel nationally and internationally.

Qualifications

• Five years’ fundraising experience with success in major gifts.
• Experience designing fundraising initiatives including donor cultivation and stewardship.
• Strong donor communications, with samples to be provided.
• Ability to develop, implement and manage plans and reports.
• Ability to communicate goals and impact to supporters and team.
• Knowledge of international development desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop a year‑round fundraising strategy focused on major gifts with the CEO.
• Build a robust major gifts program and donor portfolio.
• Lead planning for donor cultivation, solicitation and stewardship.
• Advance donors through the pipeline with meetings and briefing materials.
• Monitor major gift activity, reporting, and revenue progress.
• Collaborate with the CEO, board, volunteers and stakeholders.
• Oversee external vendors for fundraising strategy and execution.
• Support events such as the annual golf tournament.
• National and international travel may be required; passport to travel.
• Other duties as required by organizational needs.
