We are currently seeking a Major Capital Projects Accountant to join our Glencore Sudbury Integrated Nickel Operations in Greater Sudbury, Ontario. The position will be based in Falconbridge, Greater Sudbury, Ontario. This is a full-time, contract position, up to two years with the possibility of extension. Work location is not accessible by public transportation.
Reporting to the Management Accounting Controller, Sudbury Operations, the Major Capital Project (MCP) Accountant is a key member of the MCP Owner’s Team, responsible for supporting the successful, accurate, and timely completion of project accounting and financial data for all Major Capital Projects, including the Onaping Depth Project and other qualifying projects. This role involves recommending and implementing efficiency improvements, ensuring the accuracy of financial and management reporting, controls, and systems related to accounting, and providing training to project team members on systems and controls.
The MCP Accountant will collaborate closely with personnel from all departments within Sudbury Operations, as well as the Nickel Corporate head office, Nickel Capital Control Group, Glencore head office personnel, and external stakeholders to fulfill their responsibilities.
