Job summary

Cascades in Ottawa is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep our on-site production lines running smoothly. This role focuses on preventive maintenance, repairs, and on-floor support for both Plant 1 and Plant 2, ensuring safety and reliability.

You will document activities, assist contractors, and contribute to continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment. Training is provided; health and safety come first at Cascades.

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing or related industry.
• Experience with equipment used in the recycling industry is an asset.
• Experience in carpentry work.
• Must be aware of all safety standards and requirements for maintenance work.
• Related technical school training.
• Training as a welder/fabricator would also be an asset.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular scheduled preventative maintenance for all equipment and building components at Plant 1 and Plant 2.
• Maintain all PM Program records for Plant 1 and Plant 2.
• Repair plant equipment as required (stationary/mobile).
• Assist in modification and fabrication of equipment for new production needs.
• Support 3rd party contractors with troubleshooting and repairs.
• Complete and file documentation: PM reports, service reports, inventory, daily activity.
