Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR in Ottawa, Canada is seeking a maintenance lead to oversee building upkeep, safety, and staff operations. The role covers painting, repairs, electrical and plumbing maintenance, and ensuring compliance with applicable codes and safety procedures.

The position requires coordinating emergency availability, managing budgets, and maintaining facilities equipment. A reliable, detail-oriented candidate will uphold policies and maintain a secure, well-kept complex.

Responsibilities

  • Comply with the Facility’s personnel, safety, and corporate policies and procedures.
  • Treat visitors and team members with respect and dignity.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of all information.
  • Report to work on time and as scheduled.
  • Keep complex grounds orderly and free from hazards, snow, ice, leaves and in good repair.
  • Maintain the building including painting, tile replacement, furniture repair and trim.
  • Ensure electrical systems and appliances are in good working order.
  • Ensure plumbing is in working order and in good repair.
  • Organize fire drills and ensure fire safety equipment is inspected regularly.
  • Maintain complex equipment such as washers, dryers, boilers, ACs, furnaces and lawn mowers.
  • Ensure compliance with Kansas and Federal regulations including hazardous materials and building, electric and plumbing codes.
  • Staff the maintenance department, including hiring, orienting, and disciplining staff.
  • Maintain budgets and inform property manager before spending beyond budget.
  • Ensure 24-hour availability of maintenance services for emergencies.

  • Treat , visitors, and team members with respect and dignity.

  • Maintain the confidentiality of all information.

  • Report to work on time and as scheduled.

  • Complex grounds must be maintained in an orderly fashion; free from hazards, debris and clutter. Sidewalks and drives must be free from snow, ice, leaves and in good repair.

  • Responsible for maintaining the building including but not limited to painting, replacing worn or stained tiles, repairing furniture, locks, baseboards, trim, windows, etc.

  • Responsible for assuring the electrical system and all electrical appliances are in good working condition.

  • Responsible for assuring that all plumbing is in working order and in good repair.

  • Responsible for organizing fire drills and assuring that all fire safety equipment is in working order and is inspected on a regular schedule.

  • Maintain all complex equipment including but not limited to washers, dryers, boilers, air conditioners, furnaces and lawn mowers.

  • Assures staff comply with all Kansas and Federal regulations including hazardous materials, fire safety, and building, electric and plumbing codes.

  • Responsible for staffing the maintenance department. Follows the complex policies when hiring, orienting, and disciplining employees.

  • Maintains and keeps accurate accounting for all budgets assigned, and informs property manager prior to spending monies in excess of the budget.

  • Assures 24-hour availability of service for maintenance emergencies.
