Job summary

Highline Mushrooms is seeking a Permanent, Full-Time Maintenance Technician to support two Ontario facilities in Leamington and Kingsville. The role covers building and equipment maintenance, welding, hydraulics, pneumatics and low-voltage electrical work.

Ideal candidates have 10–15 years of maintenance experience and must be eligible to work in Canada. The position offers CAD 32/hour with extended health, pension matching and overtime eligibility.

Qualifications

• Ten to fifteen years in building and mechanical maintenance preferred.
• Experience and/or education/training in pneumatic controls, welding, hydraulics, farm equipment is an asset.
• Must be eligible to work in Canada for any employer, without restrictions.
• Able to perform repairs on buildings and equipment.
• Willing to train others on PMs and repairs.

Responsibilities

• Knowledgable about all farm operations, equipment and maintenance duties.
• Perform low voltage electrical tasks and minor electrical work.
• Repair buildings and equipment including welding, hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Train new maintenance associates on PMs, repairs and safety.
• Complete preventative maintenance duties and checklists.
• Perform boiler checks and cropping room safety verifications.
• Assist in evaluating jobs and determining requirements.
• May operate control software that monitors mechanical equipment.
• Respond to emergency maintenance requests as needed.
• Assist contractors and verify safety equipment operability.
• Assist in general building upkeep and occasional grounds work.
• Install and inspect air handling systems as needed.
• Construct catwalks and room fronts as required.
• Observe and report issues on farm.

What You Need:

• Ten to fifteen years of experience in building and mechanical equipment maintenance/repair preferred

What You'll Do:

• Has knowledge of all farm operations, equipment, and maintenance responsibilities

• Has low voltage electrical experience and knowledge; completes minor electrical jobs

• Performs minor and major repairs on buildings and equipment unsupervised including, but not limited to, welding, replacing, and repairing parts, hydraulics, pneumatics, low voltage electrical, and equipment, buildings and facilities

• Trains new maintenance associates on PM’s, repairs, troubleshooting farm equipment and safe operation of equipment.

• Completes preventative maintenance duties and completes checklists as assigned

• Performs operational checks on boilers as scheduled (L, K only) and cropping room checks after case days (verifies safety of catwalks, front of room, trays, straightens legs, etc.)

• Assists in evaluating jobs and determines requirements

• May operate a computer which controls and monitors mechanical equipment and utility systems

• Responds to emergency maintenance requests as required

• Assists and supports contractors

• Assists in verifying that smoke detectors and fire extinguishers are operable, as requested

• Assists maintenance personnel with major and minor repairs

• Performs building upkeep, including shop cleaning, painting, removing garbage, etc.

• Performs occasional grounds keeping as required

• Installs, repairs and inspects air bags and air handling systems in each room for damage

• Constructs catwalks and front of rooms as needed

• Observes and reports any issues on farm

• Able to come in after hour call-ins

• Performs any other duties as assigned.

Hours of Work:

• 5 to 6 days / week

• Approximately 40 to 50 hours / week

• Public Holidays / Weekends as scheduled

• Daily shift end times vary based on production needs

Earnings:

• $32.00 per hour
