Job summary

Broadstreet Properties Ltd. is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support our Manitoba portfolio, including Dufferin Landing apartments in Portage la Prairie.

You will diagnose, repair, and maintain plumbing, heating, electrical systems, windows, doors, and fixtures to ensure safe, comfortable living spaces. Ideal candidates bring 2+ years in maintenance, a relevant trade certificate or equivalent, and proficiency with hand tools and basic repair equipment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of maintenance experience.
• Completion of relevant trade, technical certification, or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of hand tools and repair equipment.
• Experience using computers, smartphones, and tablets for emails and work orders.
• Availability to work on-call on rotation.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair basic to intermediate plumbing, heating and electrical issues.
• Repair windows, blinds, doors, switches, plugs, appliances, equipment, fixtures and flooring.
• Paint, patch drywall, mud, tape, and related tasks.
• Maintain building exterior and basic grounds as needed.
• Detect faulty operations, report deficiencies and follow up on fixes.

Your contributions to the team include:

• Diagnosing and repairing basic to intermediate plumbing, heating and electrical problems
• Performing repairs on windows, blinds, doors, switches, plugs, appliances, equipment, fixtures and carpet, vinyl and ceramic tile replacement
• Painting, drywall patching, mudding, taping, etc.
• Maintaining building exterior including basic grounds maintenance as required
• Detecting faulty operations, defective materials and reporting deficiencies

What you need to be successful:

• 2+ years’ experience in a maintenance related role
• Completion of relevant trade, technical certification, or equivalent experience
• Knowledge of hand tools and repair equipment
• Experience using computers, smartphones, and tablets; used for email, electronic work order applications, timesheets
• Availability to work on-call on rotational basis
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle
