Nature & Scope

We are currently seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our team! The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for repairing and maintaining machinery and mechanical equipment such as printing presses, rewinders, motors, pneumatic tools, and production machines.

• Install, repair, rebuild, and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment used in production to maximize uptime.
• Assist in developing and organizing preventive maintenance programs.
• Prioritize, schedule, and delegate work assignments to ensure quality work at minimal cost while meeting company standards.
• Communicate daily with the Operations Manager, Supervisors, and production personnel to review equipment performance.
• Perform root cause analysis to increase serviceability and reliability of equipment.
• Maintain positive employee relations and open communication channels.
• Control labor, material, and part expenses within budget.
• Order parts and supplies as needed, ensuring adequate tooling and hardware.
• Determine the scope of upcoming projects and complete them as scheduled.
• Maintain technical competency, including PLC, controls, drives, and servo experience.
• Report on plant conditions and issues impacting quality, cost, safety, or morale.
• Ensure safety, work rules, and housekeeping standards are followed.
• Diagnose issues by observing mechanical devices and listening for trouble sounds.
• Dismantle devices to access and replace defective parts.
• Be available for emergencies and on-call responses.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

• Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, with at least five years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of two years relevant experience in manufacturing, with printing or packaging experience preferred.
• Ability to interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and manuals.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to perform calculations involving discounts, proportions, and geometric measurements.
• Basic knowledge of algebra and geometry.
