ALS is seeking a Facilities Support role in Timmins, Ontario, to assist in repairs and general maintenance across indoor and outdoor areas, including lab equipment upkeep and safety compliance.

You will help trades, operate a forklift, and procure materials, with a focus on quality and adherence to procedures in a 24/7 facility environment. This entry-level to mid-level position offers benefits and opportunities for skill growth.

Formación

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Forklift certificate or experience will be considered an asset.

Responsabilidades

• Assist trades and contractors with maintenance tasks.
• Assist senior facilities staff with routine maintenance.
• Maintain property indoors and outdoors and dispose of waste.
• Operate a forklift to handle pallets and waste.
• Procure and transport building materials and maintenance supplies.
• Support minor repairs: painting, carpentry, and basic plumbing.
• Assist in maintaining lab equipment (filters, scrubber nozzles, bearings).
• Follow established procedures to ensure analytical quality.
• Follow ALS safety policies and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

About the Position

This role will consist primarily of assisting in repairs and maintenance to the building and the property.

Specific Responsibilities

• - Assist trades and contractors;
• - Assist senior facilities staff with maintenance work as required;
• - Property maintenance including dumping garbage and maintaining both indoor and outdoor areas as required;
• - Operate a forklift to dump garbage, move pallets, etc.;
• - Purchase and transport of building materials and maintenance supplies;
• - Assist with minor building repairs such as painting, basic carpentry and basic plumbing etc.;
• - Assist in the maintenance of lab equipment i.e. changing air and water filters, cleaning scrubber nozzles, and greasing bearings;
• - Use correct methods in accordance with the established procedures and schedules while ensuring analytical quality;
• - Observe established safety regulations and comply with all ALS health and safety policies and procedures;
• - Other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• - Working knowledge of Microsoft Office;

Required Qualifications

• - Valid full Provincial drivers licence;
• - Forklift certificate or experience will be considered an asset (full training will be provided);

Physical Demands

• - Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time;
• - Ability to lift up to 50 pounds;
• - Extensive walking or movement, bending, kneeling, and working with machines;
• - Comfortable in environments with high noise levels;
• - Manual dexterity to perform repetitive tasks.
• - Please note that ALS Geochemistry operates 24/7 and will require day, afternoon, and graveyard shift work including weekends.
