ALS Canada Ltd. is seeking a facilities support associate in Timmins, Ontario. The role focuses on assisting in repairs and routine maintenance to the building and property, with duties ranging from minor carpentry to basic plumbing and lab equipment upkeep.

You will work with trades and senior facilities staff, operate a forklift, and assist with material transport and safety compliance. A valid driver’s licence is required; forklift certification or prior experience is an asset.

• Forklift certificate or experience will be considered an asset (full training will be provided).

• Property maintenance including dumping garbage and maintaining both indoor and outdoor areas as required.
• Operate a forklift to dump garbage, move pallets, etc.
• Purchase and transport of building materials and maintenance supplies.
• Assist with minor building repairs such as painting, basic carpentry and basic plumbing etc.
• Assist in the maintenance of lab equipment i.e. changing air and water filters, cleaning scrubber nozzles, and greasing bearings.
• Use correct methods in accordance with the established procedures and schedules while ensuring analytical quality.
• Observe established safety regulations and comply with all ALS health and safety policies and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

About the Position

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office;

Required Qualifications

• Valid full Provincial drivers licence;
• Forklift certificate or experience will be considered an asset (full training will be provided);

Physical Demands

• Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time;
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds;
• Extensive walking or movement, bending, kneeling, and working with machines;
• Comfortable in environments with high noise levels;
• Manual dexterity to perform repetitive tasks.

Shift Requirements

Please note that ALS Geochemistry operates 24/7 and will require day, afternoon, and graveyard shift work including weekends.
