Job summary

Piston Automotive in Mississauga, Canada seeks a skilled maintenance technician to provide a wide range of building and equipment maintenance for Production, including preventative, predictive, and reactive maintenance. The role covers hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, electrical controls, and basic building repairs, with an emphasis on safety and accurate reporting.

Hourly rate ranges from CAD 42.00 to CAD 48.00.

Qualifications

• Must hold Certified Industrial Millwright (433A) with 3–5 years equivalent experience.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills required.
• Some electrical experience preferred.
• Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors and rotating equipment.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Commitment to workplace safety.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel and general office software.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment (lubrication, hydraulics, electrical and controls).
• Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic issues and powered conveyance systems.
• Troubleshoot pneumatic systems and valving.
• Set up Electric Torque runners and Vision Cameras, troubleshoot as needed.
• Fabrication and installation of hard piped airlines and welded assemblies.
• Maintain and troubleshoot lifting devices (pneumatic).
• Trouble shoot electrical controls up to 575V - 30 A; assist in PLC troubleshooting.
• Modify electrical circuits up to 120V-15A; assist in larger electrical projects.
• Make repairs to building as needed (doors, drywall, painting)
• Minor plumbing tasks as needed (fixtures, valves)
• Use LOTO processes and report hazards to supervisor
• Follow safety procedures and report environmental hazards
• Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, rotating equipment
• Work independently and as part of a team
• Maintain safety commitments
• Experience with Word, Office, Excel and internet browsers

The position will provide a wide variety of general building and equipment maintenance repairs and services for Production. This includes all preventative, predictive and reactive maintenance requirements.

• Perform mechanical Preventive Maintenance on Equipment (Lubrication, Hydraulics, electrical and controls)

• Trouble shoot robot issues, programs, and end effectors as needed.
• Assist in PLC troubleshooting - simple program changes and monitoring
• Modify and move electrical circuits up to 120V-15A
• Assist in larger electrical projects as needed
• Make repairs to building as needed (ie man doors, drywall, painting)
• Perform minor plumbing tasks as needed (fixture repairs, valve replacements)
• Other small repairs as needed
• Use LOTO processes and procedures when repairing equipment.
• Follow standard safety procedures, correct safety and environmental hazards and report then to the appropriate supervisor immediately.
• Certified Industrial Millwright (433A) and 3-5 years of equivalent experience.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Focus on some electrical experience.
• Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, and rotating equipment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety.
• Experience with standard office computing systems including Word, Office, Excel, and internet browsers

Hourly Rate - $42.00-$48.00 CAD
