The technician will support manufacturing and engineering teams by performing maintenance and repair tasks on optical equipment and systems. The role reports to the Supervisor, Maintenance.

Responsibilities

1. Perform maintenance and repairs such as drywall and tile repairs, taping, painting, carpentry, and door lock replacements.
2. Carry out outdoor facilities repairs and upgrades.
3. Maintain shop and vehicle equipment.
4. Transport materials and supplies, maintain inventory.
5. Assist with preventative maintenance.
6. Ensure a safe and clean work environment.
7. Conduct inspections, identify issues, and perform basic repairs.
8. Support equipment upgrades, modifications, and installations.

Education and Technical Requirements

• Completion of Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent.
• Preference for industrial or commercial maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety, WHMIS, and PPE use.
• Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills.
• Ability to solve technical problems and make sound decisions.
• Motivated with a positive attitude.
• Willingness to learn through study, instruction, or experience.
