Job summary

Burnbrae Farms is seeking a Maintenance Technician for a full-time, onsite role in Lyn, Ontario. The technician will service electrical/electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, applying engineering knowledge to diagnose and repair equipment across manufacturing and processing facilities.

Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will perform preventive maintenance, support continuous improvements, and ensure safe operations with a focus on minimizing downtime and maintaining GMP

Qualifications

• Technical diploma or accredited apprenticeship in a technical field.
• Three years of applicable experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of electrical/electronic components and equipment including diagnostic tools.

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety and GMP policies and guidelines.
• Troubleshoot, maintain and repair high‑speed manufacturing, packaging and facility equipment.
• Troubleshoot, maintain and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical/electronic equipment.
• Install equipment, wiring, or programs to meet specifications.
• Document and track corrective and preventive maintenance to maximize plant availability.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor. The Maintenance Technician conducts, maintains, tests and repairs electrical/electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and components. Applies knowledge of electrical/electronic and mechanical principles in determining equipment malfunctions and applies skills in restoring equipment to operation. Provides skilled mechanical and electrical/electronic support to all areas of Manufacturing

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Follow all required work safe practices. This would include but is not limited to: lock-out tag-out, PPE, confine space safety awareness, chemical safety, fall protection, etc.;
• Perform all tasks in accordance with company safety and GMP policies/guidelines;
• Troubleshoot, maintain and repair high-speed manufacturing, packaging and facility equipment;
• Troubleshoot, maintain and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical/electronic equipment including but not limited to programmable controls, power supplies, drives, gages and test equipment;
• Make adjustment to equipment ensuring the proper performance and safe operating conditions;
• Assist maintenance personnel with technical troubleshooting;
• Advise operators and line technicians of operation procedures and requirements for working safely with electrical/electronic and mechanical equipment and components;
• Document and track all corrective and preventive maintenance performed, aiming to achieve maximum plant availability, with a target of zero unplanned downtime;
• Perform preventive maintenance functions as directed;
• Install equipment, machines, wiring, or programs to meet specifications;
• Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions;
• Install, start up and shut down equipment in accordance with company safety procedures for machine activation and shutdown and in line with OSHA requirements;
• Maintain cleanliness of work area;
• Support and help implement continuous process improvements;
• Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Technical Diploma or accredited apprenticeship program of the equivalent in a technical field;
• Three (3) year applicable experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
• Knowledge of electrical/ electronic components and equipment including the use of special instruments for diagnostic purposes;
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and effective communication with peers, supervisors;
