Job summary

Delta Hotels by Marriott Kamloops is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Technician to support the day-to-day upkeep of our hotel & facilities. You will help maintain a safe, functional, and well-presented environment for guests and teammates.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years of maintenance experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and a willingness to work across HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, with adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; trade certification is an asset.
• Minimum 2 years of maintenance or facilities experience.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities.
• Basic knowledge of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical).
• Experience using hand and power tools safely.
• Legally entitled to work in Canada.
• Hospitality experience or HVAC certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and repairs across the hotel, restaurant, and related facilities.
• Respond to maintenance requests and troubleshoot issues promptly.
• Complete preventative maintenance tasks to support property condition.
• Maintain records of work orders, inspections, and completed tasks.
• Support upkeep of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and basic IT equipment.
• Ensure all work complies with safety standards and policies.
• Assist with contractor coordination and oversee work as required.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance areas in a safe, organized state.
• Collaborate with other departments to support operational needs.

Delta Hotels by Marriott Kamloops is seeking a hands-on and reliable Maintenance Technician to support the day-to-day upkeep of our hotel & associated facilities. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe, functional, and well-presented environment for both guests and team members. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, takes pride in their work, and thrives in a dynamic, service-focused environment.

What You’ll Do

• Perform general maintenance and repairs across the hotel, restaurant, and related facilities
• Respond to maintenance requests and troubleshoot issues in a timely and professional manner
• Complete preventative maintenance tasks to support the ongoing condition of the property
• Maintain accurate records of work orders, inspections, and completed tasks
• Support the upkeep of systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and basic IT equipment
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with safety standards and company policies
• Assist with contractor coordination and oversee work as required
• Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance areas in an organized and safe condition
• Collaborate with other departments to support operational needs

What We’re Looking For

• Minimum 2 years of maintenance or facilities experience
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively
• Basic knowledge of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical)
• Experience using hand and power tools safely
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to maintenance
• High school diploma or equivalent; trade certification is an asset
• Legally entitled to work in Canada

Additional experience that would be considered an asset:

• Experience in a hotel or hospitality environment
• HVAC experience or certification
• 5+ years of maintenance experience
• Leadership or mentoring experience

Working Conditions

• Fast-paced environment with a mix of scheduled and on-demand maintenance work
• Primarily indoor work with occasional outdoor tasks
• Schedule may include evenings, weekends, or on-call support based on operational needs

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Frequent bending, reaching, and stooping
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
• Ability to perform physically active, hands-on work throughout the shift
