Maintenance Technician

Location: Halifax

Salary: Up to £43,000 per annum DOE

Working Hours: Monday – Thursday, 07:30 – 16:00; Friday, 07:30 – 15:00; On-call 1 in 4 weeks (paid minimum 4 hours per call-out, with time in lieu for bank holiday on-call cover)

We are seeking a Maintenance Technician to play a key role in maintaining, improving, and ensuring the safe operation of our client's chemical manufacturing plant that produces ingredients for personal care products.

Responsibilities:

• Perform reactive and planned maintenance on equipment including pumps, vessels, tanks, motors, gearboxes, pneumatics, hydraulics, etc.
• Diagnose breakdowns and execute repairs to maximise equipment uptime
• Support continuous improvement and process optimisation
• Ensure safe working practices
• Maintain high housekeeping standards and contribute to a positive 5S culture
• Update maintenance records, conduct root cause analyses, and perform risk assessments

Qualifications:

• NVQ Level 3 / ONC / HNC / City & Guilds or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering
• Mechanical experience in chemical manufacturing or similar high-volume environment
• Solid understanding of lean manufacturing, quality control tools, and H&S legislation
• Comfortable working with legacy systems during site modernisation
